Project : Bicycle

It's been 17weeks since my last post and now im back after completing my honors term at art center. No more school for me for awhile... BUT I am so glad I got a chance to take some awesome motion graphics classes with amazing teachers. I was able to take Typeography3 with Simon Johnston, Motion2 with Ko Maruyama, Storyboarding with David Clayton, and 3D motion graphics with Rob Garrott. It was an AMAZING term.

This is a storyboard for my final project from Motion2 and 3D:

maybe I will upload the video later but for now, I will go get me some Szechuan chinese food one last time before I go off on my Caribbean vacation :)

I graduated!

I have finally graduated on April 24th 2010!
Art Center has awarded me with an honors term which they pick one person out of the whole graduating class to come back and take a full tuition free term. Although I graduated, I will be going back to Art Center for one more FUNnn term :D

There were lots of questions and uncertainties with putting up my grad wall. Although I was given one of the best wall space, it had a 8ft long and 2ft tall window right on the eye level. My grad wall was not designed with that in mind...and so the dilemma began. After talking to councilors, wood shop professionals, teachers, fellow students, and visiting three hardware stores, I've decided to build myself a whole new wall.

Lots of thanks to everyone who made this grad wall happen esp. Tom, Eddie, Cindy, Eric, and the guys from Art Center Facilities!

candy island work in progress

first claymation project i've started working on inspired by my bulldog Piglet. I have been watching a lot of Misadventures of Flapjack and suspect that Candy Island (working title) was influenced by it. yey for Cartoon Network! <3
I am planning on finishing it up soon for my graduation show. wOOHoo can't wait to see the whole thing come together already.

giant robot show:patchwork

I am going to be a part of a group show at Giant Robot this month called patchwork.
I will have 6 of my pieces in it. Line drawing, acrylic, and some stitching!!! It's my first time using a sowing machine and cross stitching on my pieces. The pieces are on 6x6 fabrics. We had creative freedom to do whatever we wanted to with the fabric. I had a lot of fun working on the pieces!

quick experimental project

I enjoyed stop motion very much but after studying movies like Coraline and Fantastic Mr.Fox, I fell in love with it. I love the physical/personal relationship designers get to have with the characters/puppets and the sets etc.

for this experimental project, I wanted to marry my illustrations and animation together and make a short stop motion piece.

This is a story of a girl who longs for acceptance from society.
I set this animation in the bathroom because it is a place where people get made up. It's a personal space that allows for a private and a intimate moment with yourself-just you and the mirror.

It was perfect timing. My boyfriend had just scrubbed cleaned his bathroom the night before so I took advantage of that. yey for Tom :D

Kodak-it's time to smile

project i've worked on at Paranoid as 2-d designer/artist with one of my favorite director Sophie Gateau.
I helped with drawing out the character on Flash, cutting and organizing the life size character printouts, designing and making the paper doll, post production animation, and the title cards.
Working with team of talented, awesome people such as Sophie was such a pleasure and fun!

i am also the proud parent of Piglet the bulldog in the movie :)

is your dog constipated?

intro for how to treat a constipated dog

Piglet my bulldog was constipated for about 48hours. He normally goes potty 3times a day...and this was not a good sign. I had to figure out how to make him feel better and finally through process of belly rubs and some pumpkin, Pig was relieved. This inspired me to make a animation. I'll update the rest soon :)

Rat City Complete!

Special thanks to Tom and Mike Borowski for making this animation happen!
The amazing Borowski brothers.

New Years Card!!!

I'm backing up all my files now...kinda just sitting here while my dvds are burning...so I'll update!

I've always been wanting to send out Christmas cards/New Years cards. I have a good childhood memory from Hawaii. My best friend and I wrote Christmas cards to everyone we know, all night long telling them how much we love them and appreciate them.

I finally printed some out this year :) Here is how it looks like. If you'd like one, tell me and I'll send u one!

Aqualexa swimsuit catalog

This was done end of last year for Aqualexa.
Photo was shot by Vincent Rogozyk who had a great idea of projecting pictures onto the models.
Honestly, I didn't know how the end product was going to look like when I received the photos to work on. It was all intuitive and experimental- so much fun. The client mailed me the catalog from Paris when it was done printing. thank u. It's awesome to see the work come to life in print.

at the Hive show

Thank u everyone who came out to support me and Ashley! :D

sneak peek

phone photo of the paintings for the upcoming Bee Here Now2 show:
LC from thinkspace gallery challenged me with something for my next series of paintings:
to focus on one subject and paint till there is absolutely nothing esle left to paint about.
Here it is- challenge in progress. I like the result I am seeing and the mental battles I am going through. Bees and Piglet, my two favorite things.
